341 in the news - 2008
Three women who have been brought together for one purpose, to glorify God through the gift of music. Jennifer Johnson, Jennifer Aarrestad, and Janice Grimes are from a small town in Central Wisconsin. While 341 is a part-time ministry for each, it has progressed beyond their expectations.
In 2008, 341 participated in the National Quartet convention talent search competition in Louisville, KY. They were the only all women's trio and came in 6th place overall. In June of 2010, 341 was invited to Nashville to perform at an international acapella singing festival sponsored by Keith Lancaster, executive producer of the original group called "ACAPPELLA. 341 returned to Nashville in November 2010 to record their first acapella self titled album named "Simply 341". February 2011, 341 Trio was selected as a finalist to perform at the Chicago region Harmony Sweepstakes A cappella Festival. September 2012, 341 Trio had the wonderfull opportunity to be the 'opening act' for the Emmy winner, Tonic Sol-FA, at the historic Grand Theater in Wausau, WI.
The 341 concert series includes performances at Acafest in Nashville-TN, The Cup O Joy in Green Bay, One Way Cafe in Wisconsin Rapids and Wisconsin Valley Fair in Wausau. 341 also serves regularly at their home church, Highland Community Church and Good News Church, on worship team for special events and Sunday morning services. 341 concerts include various national recognized groups including Celebrating Recovery, Faith in Action, Wisconsin Christian Leadership, Christian Women's Club, Women A Glow, Hospice, and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. In addition to serving churches for special concerts and worship services, 341 is committed to sharing their music ministry with local nursing homes, hospitals and home visits.
In June 2012, 341 welcomed their newest member (Jennifer Aarrestad) after saying good-bye to long time soprano and friend, Kay Pickar. Kay will truly be missed. We now embrace Jennifer as we go on this journey to spread the gospel through music.
341's mission is to share God's Word, to encourage worship, and to bring joy and hope to people. 341 Trio is a 'not for financial gain' ministry and does not charge a set fee for performances to ensure all venue types and sizes have the opportunity the hear 341 Trio and the gospel message. Proceeds that are voluntarily and graciously donated and collected through merchandise sales are used to cover expenses only.
