341 in the news - 2008

341 is a dream come true . . . three women who have been brought together for one purpose, to glorify God through the gift of music. Jennifer Johnson, Kay Pickar, and Janice Grimes are from a small town in Central Wisconsin. Beginning in 2004, practicing in the basement, the group has had many adventures, from singing in the rain at outdoor festivals to comforting hospice patients at their bedsides. The girls have been amazed at God’s provision and equipping. While 341 is a part-time ministry for each, it has progressed beyond their expectations.

In 2008, 341 participated in the National Quartet convention talent search competition in Louisville, KY.  They were the only all women's trio and came in 6th place overall.  In June of 2010, 341 was invited to Nashville to perform at an international acapella singing festival sponsored by Keith Lancaster, executive producer of the original group called "ACAPPELLA".   341 returned to Nashville in November 2010 to record their first acapella self titled album named "Simply 341".  February 2011, 341 Trio was selected as a finalist to perform at the Chicago region Harmony Sweepstakes A cappella Festival.

The 341 concert series includes performances at Acafest in Nashville-TN, The Cup O Joy in Green Bay,  One Way Cafe in Wisconsin Rapids and Wisconsin Valley Fair in Wausau.   341 also serves regularly at their home church, Highland Community Church, on worship team for special events and Sunday morning services.   341 concerts include various national recognized groups including Faith in Action, Wisconsin Christian Leadership, Christian Women's Club, Women A Glow,  Hospice,  and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.  In addition to serving churches for special concerts and worship services, 341 is committed to sharing their music ministry with local nursing homes, hospitals and home visits.

341's mission is to share God's Word, encourage worship, and bring joy to others through God's Spirit.

Current Song List

The majority of 341's songs are traditional hymns with special southern gospel acapella arrangements from various groups including The Martins, Rejoice!, The Lester's, Hope's Call, and Gaither Vocal Band.   Several of the songs are also in the barbershop style.     Recently, 341 is excited to introduce new contemporary acappella arrangements in the style of Toby Mac and Mercy Me.  Although 341 is primarily an acappella group, they include a few instrumental songs originally sung by Tally Trio, His Song and Diamond Rio.
