341 in the news - 2008
341 Trio is three women who have been brought together for one purpose, to glorify God by spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through A cappella music. Jennifer Johnson, Jennifer Aarrestad, and Janice Grimes are God centered ladies from Central Wisconsin. While 341 is a part-time ministry for each, it has progressed beyond their expectations. 341 Trio holds firm to the truths of bible as their foundation of their faith. For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son and whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Yes, it's that simple.
In 2008, 341 participated in the National Quartet convention (NQC) talent search competition in Louisville, KY. Southern Gospel groups from all over the country participated in this competition as it is known to bring out new talent in the Gospel music industry. The ladies from Wisconsin found themselves a little out of place as they were the only all women's trio from the north. To their amazement, they took 6th place overall and were very pleased. The excitement was overwhelming and catapulted 341 to new levels. In June of 2010, 341 was invited to Nashville to perform at an international acapella singing festival sponsored by Keith Lancaster, executive producer of the original group called "ACAPPELLA". While at Acafest, an anonymous donor pledged to support 341 through their first CD project. I guess you could say "341 was discovered!". 341 returned to Nashville in November 2010 to record their first acapella self titled album named "Simply 341" engineered by Melissa Lancaster from DURANT studios. February 2011, 341 Trio was selected as a finalist to perform at the Chicago region Harmony Sweepstakes A cappella Festival. September 2012, 341 Trio had the honor to be special guests for the Emmy winner, Tonic Sol-FA, at the historic Grand Theater in Wausau, WI. Spring of 2013, 341 Trio had their first radio interview with Wisconsin state-wide station WRVM (The Voice of the Master). This was a special promotion for an event where they shared the stage with Nationwide known Southern Gospel Quartet "Spoken4".
The 341 concert series includes performances at area outreach venues like The Cup O Joy in Green Bay, One Way Cafe in Wisconsin Rapids, local sporting events and Wisconsin Valley Fair. 341 also serves regularly at their home church, Highland Community Church and Good News Church, on worship team and special events. 341 concerts include various national recognized groups including Celebrating Recovery, Faith in Action, Wisconsin Christian Leadership, Christian Women's Club, Women A Glow, Hospice, Wisconsin Outreach for the blind and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. 341 ventures throughout the state of Wisconsin and neighboring states to serve many Christian churches across multiple denominations. 341 adds multiple elements of worship and Christian entertainment to their concerts including classical ballet lyrical dance from Allegro Dance Theater, worship leaders, congregational singing, prayer, personal testimonies, videos, Christian comedians, sign language and elements of comedy. They have a special way of engaging the audience in everything they do. One of their specialties is Women's Retreats as they find ways to incorporate their music with specific themes. Lastly and most importantly and closest to the hearts of the ladies, 341 is committed to sharing their music ministry with local nursing homes, hospitals and home visits on a regular basis.
341's mission is to share God's Word, to encourage worship, and to bring joy and hope to people. 341 Trio is a 'not for financial gain' ministry and does not charge a set fee for performances to ensure all venue types and sizes have the opportunity the hear 341 Trio and the gospel message. Proceeds that are voluntarily and graciously donated and collected through merchandise sales are used to cover expenses only.
